Tattoo Removal (Saline Tattoo removal – Read description before booking)

1 hour · £70

Subject to images received Tanita undertakes the correction of work originally carried out by other permanent cosmetic technicians which clients feel are unsatisfactory results.

This can be permanent cosmetics which have healed the wrong colour and often can be corrected by pigmenting with a corrective colour, and may require 1-7 sessions to achieve the desired result.

For permanent cosmetics, which are asymmetrical, it may only be necessary to add a little colour to reshape the feature.

Eyebrows with orange, blue, grey and green hues and lip procedures with blue – grey hues are brought back to a more natural, attractive look with skilled use of corrective pigments.

In some cases it may not be possible to correct if the permanent cosmetics are extremely dark, or too far beyond the natural borders of the original features.

Sessions can only be done 6 weekly

Aftercare for Tattoo, PMU & SMP Removal

It is important that you adhere carefully to the instructions provided by your technician. Failure to do so can lead to infection and, in rare cases, scarring.

Within the next week your removal site will start to heal. Do not pick or pull at the treated area. It takes around 24 hours for the skin to establish a protective barrier, so avoid touching the area or allowing others to touch it.

You may notice (each treatment can display different responses):

  • "Frosting" on the skin (white raised vapour bubbles) which will gradually subside
  • Tiny spots of pin-prick bleeding
  • The tattoo site is raised
  • Redness around the area (erythema)
  • Itching
  • Bruising
  • Blistering (this is not a sign that you will scar)
  • A micro-scab forms around 5 days post-procedure (can look like dry skin; do not pick, let it come away naturally)

Cool packs can be used to soothe the area and help with redness and swelling, but try not to touch the area too much and keep it clean. The best way to look after your tattoo is to "dry heal" — we do not recommend creams or gels other than any supplied by us.

In most cases, scarring is caused by picking the wound or micro-scab, or by touching the removal site and introducing infection. Please resist the urge to touch or pick.

During the removal process and for 6 weeks afterwards, keep the area out of sunlight. Alternatively, you can use sunblock to protect the area (minimum SPF 30).

You may notice the area is lighter than the surrounding skin (hypopigmentation) or slightly darker (hyperpigmentation). In most cases this resolves over time.

Changes to skin texture can occur and are often caused by the original tattoo rather than the removal process.

If you intend to have a cover-up tattoo, please wait at least 8 weeks until the dermis is fully healed.
